Grade will be taking a field trip to the National Air and Space -
Steven F. Hazy Center on Wednesday, January 20, 2016. The price per
student for the field trip is $20.00.
Unit of Study: Oceanography
The students will investigate and understand characteristics of the
ocean environment. Key concepts include: geological characteristics,
physical characteristics and ecological characteristics.
students will explore the Midwest region of the United States. Students
will be able to locate and label states on a map, locate places using
latitude and longitude and identify the capitals of those states. The
students will learn about the physical and climate characteristics of
the region. In addition, the students will analyze the relationship
between the geography, natural resources and economic activity of the

to monitor comprehension. The students are working in reading groups and
are reading nonfiction texts. We are working on identifying main ideas
and summarizing the supporting details.
