I hope you all have found some joy in all of the snow that has fallen.
I have enjoyed watching the moon dance upon the new fallen snow. How
wonderful to see such sight. I have thought of some things that your
children might enjoy doing while they are home with you.
Sink or Float: Gather up some everyday items and guess which will sink
or float...then fill a pan of water and try out your child's guess.
Solution or Mixture: Gather some common household items and place each
in a glass of water...see which will disappear and which will remain
(suggestions: skittles, m and m, chocolate chip, block, ice cube, orange
slice, apple slice) You may wish to use warm water. The experiment
will go faster.
Water Walking: Fill several cups with colored water (color with food
coloring). Connect the cups with a white cloth. Watch the cloth turn
colors as the water travels from cup to cup.
Make Play Dough: 1/2 cup salt, 1 Cup flour,2 tsp. cream of tarter, 1
tablespoon oil,1 cup water. Mix and cook for 3 to 5 minutes. You can
add food color or flavorings for color and smell. Store in an airtight
Sort Playing cards- red and black, by suit, by number
I hope these ideas help you make the best of your snow holiday.
