have had a busy few weeks. We have really been working on putting
numbers in order and greater than or less than. We have been working on
money and skip counting involving money. The students have read many
different sight word books and we continue to work on increasing our
sight word recognition. For 2015, we have walked a total of 49 miles.
We mapped it out. That is the equivalent of walking from Signal Hill
Elementary School to Massaponax, VA. We do plan to keep walking as long
as the weather permits. Enjoy the Holiday Season! I will see you in
was a very short week, but we worked hard. We worked on a Thanksgiving
book of words. I found out who likes gravy and who does not! Our
News-2-You this week was about The White House Christmas Tree, the paper
is in their folder. I had some Thanksgiving activities leftover. I put
them in your student's folder as well. It's not homework, just fun
activities for the students to do over the break, if they want. You can
keep them at home. Have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving!!!
have been working hard on following 1-2 step oral directions with
minimal prompting. Each morning, we do a listening activity. This
activity requires the students to listen to a direction and demonstrate
their understanding of the direction by performing a task on paper, such
as "line under the car" or "color the ship green.” Our News-2-You this
week was about Coca-Cola and the celebration of their bottle. Check
their backpacks for the newspaper. We continue to work on individual
goals and objectives. Have a great weekend!
it was a shorter week, we still accomplished a lot. Our News-2-You
focused on the Trainfest taking place in Wisconsin. The students
enjoyed learning about model trains and making a train of their own. We
worked on who, questions and concentrated on the fact that who is a
person. We learned about different people that help us in the
community, and answered who questions involving community helpers. I
have received a few of the Book-It forms back. If you have one filled
out, please return it and I will send home the personal pizza
certificate. Let me know if you need another book log. Have a great
finally fall, and with the cooler weather, we have been able to walk
more after lunch. We walked 14 miles in the month of October! This
brings our grand total to 24 miles for the school year! We have been
focusing on number order and greater than and less than. Our News-2-You
this week was about Robots on Farms. The students enjoyed reading the
paper and creating their own robots. Reminder there is no school on
Monday, November 2 or Tuesday, November 3. Have a great weekend!
week we talked about the Monarch Migration. The students enjoyed
learning about the butterflies and the reason they migrate south. We
made butterflies and hung them in the hallway. We are still tracking
the World Series and are getting closer to the game! The class has also
been working on understanding the concept of greater than and less
than. We continue to work on individual goals and social skills in the
classroom. Enjoy your weekend!
Week of October 2
continue to work on individual goals as well as group goals, such as
social skills and different academic activities. This week we worked on
answering questions, specifically, "Who?" questions. There are
questions and activities that we worked on in your child's folder. We
also read about Yosemite National Park and learned about California.
Have a safe weekend!

September 27. The students enjoyed reading the paper and completing the
