Gifted START with Mrs. Terry!

With the closure of Prince William County Schools due to COVID-19, the timeline for gifted identification has been affected. The division-level Gifted Identification/Placement Committees will meet to review cases and make decisions regarding eligibility as soon as possible when PWCS reopens. We will continue to keep you updated as the situation evolves. In the meantime, please explore this webpage for more information and fun activities. The "Useful Links" button on the main menu is a great place to begin.  Please be safe and enjoy this time with your families!

(Strategies for Teaching and Reaching for Talent) program offers gifted education services for identified students in kindergarten through third grade. Students are identified based on specific academic aptitude in the areas of language and/or mathematics. Because of their advanced academic abilities, gifted students need acceleration and enrichment, as well as opportunities for creative and critical thinking. The START goals are to challenge students to develop their skills in thinking critically, creatively, and reflectively.  Students are offered a variety of educational opportunities that extend and enrich the county curriculum and support the Virginia Standards of Learning (SOLs).
